Top seed David Ferrer defeated No. 2 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber 7-6(5), 6-1 in one hour and 19 minutes for his fourth title in Auckland and 19th overall on Saturday. The Spaniard will enter the Australian Open as the No. 4 seed. Kohlschreiber was bidding for his fifth career title.

Bernard Tomic, 20, won his first-ever ATP World Tour title on Saturday in Sydney, Australia over South African Kevin Anderson 6-3 ,6-7(2), 6-3. Tomic withstood 13 aces, hit seven of his own and won 77 percent of his first serve points during the one hour and 55 minute encounter. Anderson was aiming for the third title of his career.
